This account of the English-Viking battles of the 10th century pits a Viking, raised from infancy by the British, against his brother, a leader of the invaders. They finally unite when they learn each other's identity. Together, they turn on the counselor who had betrayed Queen Alice to
the Vikings. In the ensuing battle, one brother is killed, along with the counselor, while the British and Vikings unite to defeat their common enemy.
