Cummings is an American journalist who, on a visit to England, is told the history of a village by town squire Clements. We see British freedom fighters during the Norman conquest, the Spanish Armada, the Napoleonic Wars, WW I, and the air attacks on England in 1940. It served as a morale booster in 1941, but now serves only as a historical document of a people's eternal fight for freedom. leave a comment
