The Emperor's Club: Review

It looks and sounds a lot like Dead Poet's Society, but beneath James Newton Howard's swollen score lies a dark tale of corruption, moral compromise and failed conviction that remains faithful to "The Palace Thief," Ethan Canin's bitter short story on which the film is based. Kevin Klein is excellent as a classical history teacher at a prestigious boy's prep school who allows his pride to interfere with the honest outcome of an academic contest.
