This Is Elvis

This semi-documentary on the "King of Rock 'n' Roll" presents an unusual combination of film clips and so-called dramatic reconstructions of Elvis Presley's life. At times it is fascinating, at other times pure Memphis cornpone. After his death, Presley took on the status of an American myth, a point that's underscored by this entire work. That such a film would even be put together says a great deal about idol-worshipping fans who turned out to see THIS IS ELVIS.
