Industrial designer Webb wants his daughter (Francis) to follow in his footsteps, but after graduating from college she elopes with psychology professor Lundigan. Their families are infuriated and take off after the pair, intending to get the marriage annulled. The in-laws start out at each other's throats, but soon become friends, so that when they catch up to the lovers and find them on the verge of breaking up, both families pitch in to keep them together. Webb's performance keeps the shallow story from falling apart. leave a comment
