Lee plays a young woman who cares for her sick mum. The only other thing in her life is a pen pal in Africa. When her mother kicks off, Lee heads off to meet her correspondent. Arriving in the Dark Continent she finds her pen pal (McGoohan) is busy chasing elephants, so she settles for his brother, played by Craig. The film ends happily for all, and in the interim there are confrontations between man and beast including lions, cobras, and elephants. Lee has it somewhat easier than the men, contending only with the likes of a porcupine. The direction gives the weak script somewhat of a humorous flair. McGoohan's and Craig's performances are the straightlaced, macho variety found in jungle pictures, while Lee manages to squeal on cue. It's really a silly picture that's redeemed by some interesting animal photography. leave a comment
