Stuewe is the son of a Rumanian aristocrat who decides to take a peasant bride to strengthen the bloodline. He chooses Delschaft at a village celebration and takes her despite the fact that a priest who has long loved her is about to renounce his vows in order to marry the peasant lass.
She is about to bear Stuewe's child when an old flame of his turns up, and Delschaft leaves to be reunited with the still faithful priest. Melodramatic and obvious, with poor performances and tunes that evaporate from the mind as soon as they end. Songs include:
"Verklungene Traume," "Siehst Du
Wohl Das Kommt Davon," "Beim Tango Tanz Verliebt," and "Man Sich So Leicht."
