Offbeat adventure tale starring Homolka (in his first Hollywood role after leaving Gaumont-British), Fitzgerald, and Milland as aimless beachcombers hired by an island commission to remove a smallpox-infected ship and its cargo from the island and sail it to Australia, where it is to be
destroyed. When they discover that the ship's cargo is champagne, they decide to sail the vessel to Peru, where they can sell the liquor and the ship for a tidy profit. A monkey wrench is thrown in the works when Farmer, the daughter of the ship's dead captain, turns young Milland's head and he
drops out of the plan. A typhoon nearly wrecks the ship and they are forced to anchor off...
