William Holden plays a man with terminal cancer who has returned to his native Australia to die. There, he comes across a recently orphaned tot played by Ricky Schroder and teaches the boy what he knows about survival. The landscapes are beautiful, the script schmaltzy, and Schroder
painfully self-conscious of his cuteness. Director Peter Collinson was dying from cancer when he was shooting this film.
