A great sci-fi alien invasion film with outstanding special effects by Ray Harryhausen. Flying saucers arrive on Earth at an Army base, and, though they mean no harm, are greeted with gunfire. This sets the aliens off and they declare war, killing the soldiers and starting a large-scale invasion involving dozens of saucers.
