Up To His Ears

This goofy black comedy stars Belmondo as a depressed young heir who is so bored that death seems an exciting alternative to his current life style. After trying and failing nine times to kill himself, Belmondo learns that his fortune has been lost in a stock market crash. This greatly upsets his fiancee, Lagrange, and her mother, Pacome, but he sees it as another good excuse to kill himself. His business manager, Inkijinoff, has a better idea. Instead of killing himself and leaving his loved ones nothing, Inkijinoff suggests that Belmondo take out a life insurance policy for $2 million and then hire someone to assassinate him.
