An outstanding cast is featured in this imaginative drama starring Haigh as the once-powerful Napoleon in his early days in exile on St. Helena. There is a short period of optimism when Brttish envoy Gielgud arrives and informs Haigh that Britain may help him escape his prison if he will agree to organize an attack on Prussia within six months. Haigh agrees to this deal, but he is stopped by the stomach cancer that would eventually consume him. Shot in Yugoslavia, the film is based on Lampell's Emmy-winning script for TV's "Hallmark Hall of Fame." Haigh is superb. leave a comment
