Grim film adaptation of LeRoi Jones's Off-Broadway play that takes place entirely in a New York subway car. Knight plays a sluttish, racist woman who seduces young middle-class black Freeman and then proceeds to humiliate and taunt him until he finally explodes into a tirade against
whites. Enraged, Knight stabs and kills Freeman and then moves on to her next victim. Knight and Freeman are superb.
