Dusty And Sweets Mcgee

1971, Movie, NR, 91 mins

starstarstarstar
An ill-conceived attempt to dramatize the dangers of drug abuse that was produced independently for $142,000 and stars a cast of real-life drug addicts with little or no acting experience. The resulting film is an uneven mix of hazy, drug-induced ramblings, with an occasionally insightful comment. The loose plot concerns the lives of the addicts, whose sordid tales are told in a confessional manner. A stab at entertainment is made through the score, which features songs by Blue Images, Nilsson, Van Morrison, and Jake Holmes. leave a comment
