A Spanish production starring Perkins as a young barmaid in the sixteenth century who assumes the identity of Don Quixote's fictional beloved, Dulcinea. She does so to ease the troubled thoughts of the noble Don as he lies dying, plagued with doubts about the usefulness of his life.
Fueled with a new passion for justice, Perkins goes out to help beggars and other unfortunates to keep Don Quixote's legend of Dulcinea alive. Soon she is arrested and accused of being a witch. After she refuses to admit that she is masquerading as the fictional Dulcinea, she is burned at the
stake. An interesting essay on the nature of myth and legend. (In English.)
