Duel On The Mississippi

Set in 1820, this melodrama of the Deep South concerns a war waged against plantations by a band of bayou renegades seeking revenge on the local aristocracy. The ringleader of the gang is Creole girl Medina, who owns a gambling ship and resents the fact that she has not been shown the respect she feels she deserves from the established families. She eventually softens when she falls for Barker, the son of aristocrat Dehner, and allows him to duel it out with her surly lieutenant, Warren Stevens, a fight Barker wins.
