Duel At Diablo

A confused western essay on racism stars Garner as a civilian guide and Travers as an uptight cavalry lieutenant escorting a shipment of ammunition to an isolated fort. Also along on the trail are Poitier, a former Army sergeant now breaking horses for the military, and Andersson, Travers' wife, who was raped by Apaches and subsequently gave birth to a half-breed child who becomes the subject of racial tension. Garner himself is bent on revenge for the scalping of his Comanche wife. Most of the action is derived from a series of Indian attacks upon the caravan.
