A young composer of heavy metal tunes conjures up a succubus who sets out on a spree of seduction, murder, and mutilation at a sorority party. Eventually the songwriter, too, comes under her spell and does some carving himself. Things look bad for the two surviving sorority sisters, but a guy in a white coat shows up and drags the demon back to the funny farm. But wait! There's a dumb twist ending! This is a relentlessly stupid gore film with nothing to recommend it. All the victims are catatonic or idiotic and it's hard to care if any of them live. Plus, the twist ending is completely ridiculous. This was the dubious debut of young director David DeCoteau, who shot the film for Empire in 10 days on a $60,000 budget. It subsequently went straight to video--released through Empire's Wizard Video label--and was laughably marketed as "Too Terrifying for the Silver Screen." While there is no shortage of blood and breasts, there is little to terrify here. leave a comment
