DEAD ZONE is one of several "Dragon Ball Z" short theatrical features based on the long-running Japanese animated comic fantasy TV series (which appeared on the Cartoon Network in the late 1990s), and the first to be released on video in the US.
The pastoral bliss enjoyed on earth by alien superhero Goku, his wife Chi-Chi, and son Gohan, is interrupted by the emergence of a band of aliens, led by Garlic Jr., who abduct Gohan to gain possession of the magical dragon ball adorning the boy's hat. With the dragon balls now in his possession,
Garlic Jr. is able to ask the Eternal Dragon to grant him his wish for immortality.
