Barthelmess is a hard-working newspaper editor in Vermont, and seems content until his wife's parents move in. The title refers to Day's parents and the situations they put Barthelmess in. Dialog is insufferably stiff. Director Frank Lloyd won a Best Director Oscar in 1929 for his three releases that year, this film, WEARY RIVER, and the silent, THE DIVINE LADY. leave a comment
