While trying to discover a method with which to prolong life, Jekyll (Ralph Bates) becomes convinced that the secret lies in female hormones. After sampling a formula he has concocted, Jekyll turns into a beautiful woman (Martine Beswick) and, claiming to be his own sister, seduces men, then kills them, so they can be used in his experiments. In time, however, Jekyll falls in love with his pretty neighbor (Susan Brodrick), and Hyde is smitten with the girl's brother (Lewis Fiander), leading to much confusion and a struggle between sexual identities. Writer Brian Clemens and director Roy Ward Baker milk the material of its inherent sensationalism and humor, but they fail to dig deeper and explore its implications. What remains is a delightfully sexy performance from Beswick. leave a comment
