Fredric March gives an incredibly chilling performance as both the bedeviled Dr. Jekyll, a gentle man of science who's quietly courting the unattainable Rose Hobart, and the transformed Mr. Hyde, Jekyll's chemically induced, murderous alter-ego who slums through London's backstreets with doomed trollop Miriam Hopkins.
