Dr. Gillespie's Criminal Case: Review

Psychopathic killer Todwell, played by Craven, is the target of crusty old Dr. Gillespie's efforts to right a wrong. Gillespie (Barrymore) tries to get Todwell transferred to a hospital on the grounds that he is insane, but before he can do so the troubled killer is slain in a prison break. This was a continuation of the popular "Dr. Kildare" series, with Barrymore continuing in the role of the crotchety Dr. Gillespie, but without Lew Ayres as Dr. Kildare. Margaret O'Brien makes one of her earliest appearances on the screen, as does future glamour girl Marilyn Maxwell. leave a comment
