Psychopathic killer Todwell, played by Craven, is the target of crusty old Dr. Gillespie's efforts to right a wrong. Gillespie (Barrymore) tries to get Todwell transferred to a hospital on the grounds that he is insane, but before he can do so the troubled killer is slain in a prison break.
