A fun-filled film from the director of the original KING KONG which casts Dekker as a mad scientist who gets kicks out of shrinking people to one-fifth their normal size. Their plight pits them against an array of obstacles which were once taken for granted as everyday, normal-sized
objects. Film has some wonderful special effects, but the subject of tiny folks was dealt with much more interestingly in THE DEVIL DOLL (1936) and THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING MAN (1957). The situation is basically unexplored in this picture, wasting a number of opportunities. Unexplainably absent is
the obligatory point-of-view shot from the Lilliputians' height. It all looks so familiar ...
