Based on Willard Mack's popular play of the same title, this costume romance was relocated from Mexico to the fictitious Costa Roja ("somewhere on the Mediterranean Coast"), but trades shamelessly on hot-blooded Latin stereotypes. Dance-hall girl Dolores (Norma Talmadge), who goes by the stage name "The Dove," loves gambler Johnny Powell (Gilbert Roland).
