1979, Movie, PG, 101 mins

Mulberry Square and Joe Camp produced the Benji movies, and this was their second noncanine picture. A group of teens in a small southern town realize that Borgnine is planning to kill a Middle East prime minister (Sommer). The police don't believe them, so they save the day themselves by stopping the assassination attempt during a school assembly. Outlandish plot, but the quick-paced action will keep the kids watching. The omniscient voice of Orson Welles starts off the picture explaining McGuffin (sic)--a meaningless word used by Alfred Hitchcock to represent whatever a film's characters are searching for. Featuring a young Vincent Spano (RUMBLEFISH; BABY IT'S YOU) and Dion Pride, son of country-western singer Charley Pride. leave a comment
