This animated children's feature from Australia--the fourth in a series--follows the adventures of the denizens of an animal town as they battle city hall. The mayor, Percy Pig, wants to build a new hydroelectric plant. To do so, a dam must be built on a nearby river; however, the new structure would destroy much of the natural surroundings. Bruce, the Koala, and his human friend Dot join forces with other animals to stop Percy and his henchman, a rat detective named Sherlock Bones. The film differs from other live-action/animation features in that the backgrounds used are real footage of the rugged Tasmanian countryside, where a similar real-life controversy actually took place. leave a comment
