To ease their tuition woes, college student Rick Bascombe (Christian Harmony) accepts a house repair gig that'll allow he and his pals Susan (Suzanne Bridgham), Tammy (Lauren Woodland) and Owen (Don Moloney) to live rent-free. Unfortunately, they're renovating the Van Buren mansion, which dates back to the 17th century and is the former site of satanic orgies and blood sacrifices. Possessed by the domicile's succubus Evelyn (Teresa De Priest), Rick becomes a love machine who beds both Susan and Tammy. But as things go bump — and hump — in the night, the spooked quartet makes a hasty exit. Back at college, they enlist the help of Professor Robert Lamont (Roy Scheider) and his clairvoyant assistant Lydia (Teresa De Priest), who's a descendant of the Van Burens. Once Lydia perceives that a workman has inadvertently removed the golden seal that kept the demons in their resting place, it's up to Lamont and his crew to purge the house of its evil occupants. While there've been a few reasonably intelligent horror films about discovering the gateway to Hades, like THE GATE and THE MINION, this surely isn't one of them. Still, haunted house flicks are back in vogue, and this cut-rate example places its accent on sex. You've got to give these devils their due; they sure are a horny lot. As Evelyn vamps her way into the libidos of the collegians, you'll wonder how much of the budget was spent on Viagra. But that's just as well, considering that, aside from Moloney, who actually manages to look scared, the other cast members are far better moaners than actors. leave a comment --Robert Pardi
