Lewis stars--in one of the rare films he didn't also write and produce--as a Walter Mitty type of fantasist who, threatened with divorce by wife Pearce, retreats into daydreams of adventure and excitement. With the aid of confidence trickster Terry-Thomas, Lewis plots to steal the plans for a valuable new invention, a high-speed oil drill, and peddle the plans to oil-rich Arabs. The spoof of spy-thriller yarns continues with the inevitable hidden microfilm, high-speed chases through Lisbon, a sinister, double-crossing dentist, and so on. All ends well as dreamer Lewis is reunited with Pearce. TV director Paris takes a small role in this, his second feature-film directorial effort. leave a comment
