Lewis is dragged out of bed on his wedding night and brought before a Navy board of inquiry. It seems that a destroyer that Lewis commanded during WW II can't be found, and unless Lewis can prove that he returned it, he'll have to pay for it. In flashback we see Lewis bumbling his way
through the war. Finally it is revealed that the ship was accidentally used for target practice and sunk; when Lewis scuba dives down to the wreck and brings back a piece of it, he is exonerated and allowed to consummate his marriage with Spencer. This comedy is below standard, even for Lewis.
