Veterinarian Phillips finally passes his exams after 12 years and sets up shop in a poor neighborhood, working with animals out of genuine love. Booth, his rival, has cheated on the exams and started a practice in a rich area so he can rake in money. Phillips gets involved with Cummins, an entertainer, after chasing her trained chimpanzee through a ladies' Turkish bath.
