The Doctor's Secret

This early talkie suffers from the problem of being all talk. The story concerns Chatterton as the wife of a rich man; forced into marriage for money and position, she becomes fed up with her situation and decides to run away with a former suitor to Egypt. Stepping out to call a cab, the suitor is run over and killed by a truck. Edeson, as a doctor, tries to help the man but to no avail. Later, invited to cocktails as a guest of Chatterton's husband, Warner, he relates the story of the woman, whom he doesn't know is Warner's wife, and her ill-fated lover.
