Another amusing tale by doctor-author Richard Gordon again has Bogarde assuming the role of Sparrow. Now he's a naval doctor on a ship carrying only two women, De Banzie and the nymphish Bardot. The guy-to-gal ratio is the basis for the seafaring humor in this must-see for fans of BB. In 1955, the 21-year-old Bardot, still an unfamiliar figure to American audiences, was introduced in a Variety review of DOCTOR AT SEA as "a looker from Paris . . . [with] an acting talent to match her charm." The New York Times pointed out that she was "visual proof that the beauties of France are not all geographic."
