A riverboat full of daffy characters rolls down the Mississippi helmed by captain Kibbee. Doubling as a medicine man, Kibbee is mistaken for a bootlegger by a pair of ex-cons who try to steal his whiskey-laced elixir. It's hard to tell which covers less ground, the slow-moving Ellabella or the script. Songs: "Dixie Showboat," "No, No, No," "If It's a Dream," "You Ain't Right with the Lord," and "Big Stuff" (Michael Breen, Sam Neuman). leave a comment
