Harvard professor Colin Chandler (Elliott Gould) is endangered when one of his students is murdered after producing a history-altering letter written by George Washington. Nevertheless, the charming teacher manages to attract the attentions of investigative reporter Polly Bishop (Kate Jackson of TV's "Charlie's Angels" fame). DIRTY TRICKS' comic approach is undermined by realistic scenes of deaths, and its fine performances are devalued by the cheap-looking (Canadian tax-shelter) production. leave a comment
