A well-crafted remake of the vastly inferior 1964 David Niven-Marlon Brando flop Bedtime Story. Michael Caine stars as a sophisticated con artist who masquerades as the exiled ruler of a tiny, revolution ridden country. Steve Martin is a third-rate American hustler who solicits funds for his "sick grandmother." Figuring the sun-drenched resort on the Cote d'Azure isn't big enough for the both of them, they agree to a contest to see who can defraud Glenn Headly of $50,000 first.
