A revealing performance which again has Mineo in the role of a juvenile delinquent. Recently released from prison, where he was sent for being an accessory to a murder, he returns to his tough turf. Social worker Keith offers guidance to the confused juvenile, who has trouble understanding why, after years of abuse, he is treated with respect. Mineo is reborn when his younger brother, who idolizes him, asks him along on a gang robbery. Instead of participating, he takes the kid to visit Keith, and they both straighten up. This film provides a gritty look at a character that, for Mineo, is an extension of his role as Plato in REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE. leave a comment
