A confusing film in which Annabella, the daughter of a European financier who is murdered in a conspiracy, tries to find the murderer, with the help of Niven, a government agent. The story limps stodgily along until the end, when the leader of the conspirators, Lukas, an old flame of
Annabella's, is exposed during a dinner at the Ritz. Interesting only as an early Niven vehicle and as the third English-made film for Annabella, the most celebrated young actress in France at the time. She married Tyrone Power in 1939 after coming to the US, and divorced him in 1948, after which
she returned to Europe.
