A musical showcase in which music director Bressart hires Vernon, a hot clarinetist, to compose a blues symphony for a new film. Vernon lets on that he can't read or write music--he just plays how he feels. Two musical arrangers, Noonan and Nazarro, are assigned the task of writing what he plays.
