Die Hamburger Krankheit

1979, Movie, NR, 113 mins

This film owes a lot to Elia Kazan's PANIC IN THE STREETS and, to a lesser extent, George Romero's THE CRAZIES. (Kazan's film dealt with a police search for criminals that unknowingly are infected with a highly communicable and deadly disease.) The production is dated, and themes are poorly developed. Hamburg has been quarantined because of a strange epidemic that has spread through the city. A group of misfits sneaks out of town, pursued by authorities before they can spread the disease to too many people. leave a comment
