Moreau's presence is enough to carry this moderate offering about jealousy. Moreau meets her future mate, the unstable Denner, while in Prague. Their fling becomes a passionate love affair, followed by marriage. When the two return to France, Denner becomes increasingly wary of Moreau.
Soon he learns that she's become involved with a young ballerina. As Moreau's lies increase, so does Denner's rage, and, eventually, he tries to kill her. She, however, turns the tables and sends him over the edge of a cliff. Although Moreau gives a more than adequate peformance, she doesn't
sparkle the way she does when working with great directors.
