Weissmuller plays himself in this silly jungle film. He leads professor Jackson and his daughter, Stevens, into the interior in search of an associate of Jackson who has set himself up as a god among the natives. Along the way they clash with villains seeking buried treasure and watch a
tiger fight a hyena. This was the last of 16 "Jungle Jim" movies, in the final three of which the name "Jim" was dropped and Weissmuller played himself, and woodenly at that. The onetime Olympic swimmer was now a paunchy 51 years old and after this film, he retired from the screen.
