Troubled teen Debbie Strand (Rose McGowan) is one hot number; why, just for openers, she incinerates her parents! Placed in the care of her fundamentalist grandmother Fiona (Peg Shirley), Debbie continues to wreak havoc by shoplifting, breaking curfew, and cultivating an unrequited crush on her handsome English teacher, Peter Rinaldi (Alex McArthur). When grandma proves bothersome, Debbie bludgeons her to death with a cane. While homicide detectives work to link Debbie to her parents' deaths, she eliminates anyone who interferes with True Love, including a social worker and a horny classmate. Debbie vamps Rinaldi for all she's worth, but when she realizes he won't succumb, she vows that he'll never live to give another pop quiz. In order to outsmart the cops, she fakes her own suicide, then turns her deadly attention to Marilyn (Sherrie Rose), Rinaldi's stewardess girlfriend. Talk about raging hormones! Think of this as THE BAD SEED HITS PUBERTY. Although the screenwriters don't overly concern themselves with logic, this overheated production enables dirty old (and young) men to sweat through an hour and-a-half of febrile fun. While never truly frightening, the film generates sufficient suspense and, thanks to McGowan's piquant line readings, turns viewers into cheerleaders for a Lethal Lolita who believes the way to a man's heart is through the mortuary. leave a comment --Robert Pardi
