Now somewhat dated because of its supposedly "enlightened" attitude toward homosexuality, this film is engrossing nonetheless because of its superb cast. Frank Sinatra stars as a top New York City detective investigating the mutilation murder of a gay man (James Inman). He arrests the victim's former roommate (Tony Musante) and railroads him into a confession, but is later haunted by the case when another crime leads Sinatra to the real killer.
