Attorney Missy (Jennifer Sommerfield) gets suckered by her colleague and boyfriend Graham (Stephen Polk) into unwittingly representing the Mafia in its effort to buy a huge tract of Brazilian rainforest, supposedly to protect it from further development. However, when Missy realizes who she's dealing with and what their true agenda is — to exploit the land for all it's worth — she immediately becomes a marked woman. After thugs slay the investigative reporter who tipped her off, Missy skips town and eventually car-jacks a vehicle belonging to a cowboy named Texas (Claude Duhamel). No stranger to the fugitive lifestyle, Texas helps Missy stay a yard or two ahead of the assassins. After taking too long to realize that Graham's been keeping the mob abreast of her whereabouts, Missy heads for the Vegas press conference promoting her former clients' sham deal, in the hope of exposing them to the public. This abysmal odyssey begs the question: Who's the target audience for this drivel? Thriller fans will second-guess every twist in this retread scenario about lawyer-hunting out of season; prurient types will remain limp during the sex scenes; and although the desert chase sequences stir up a lot of dust, they're not shot well enough to obscure how unexciting this opus is. In fact, the cinematography is so washed-out, even the lights of Vegas seem dimmer. leave a comment --Robert Pardi
