Thoroughly confusing film noir has MacKenzie investigating her father's murder. She dates Clements, whom she suspects is the trigger man, and he introduces her to Hatfield, manager of a night club for Dekker, who likes good music and lives in an exquisitely decorated mansion. Clements is murdered and Hatfield offers to help MacKenzie prove that Dekker, the criminal aesthete, had her father killed. Hatfield kills Dekker and convinces MacKenzie that she did it. After more plot convolutions the police arrive and shoot Hatfield. Slow moving and almost too complicated to follow, but an intriguing contribution to the noir cycle. leave a comment
