Desperately Seeking Susan

This is one of the most charming low-budget films in years, a freewheeling, light-hearted farce that gives some new twists to old plot devices. Rosanna Arquette is Roberta, a bored New Jersey housewife married to swimming pool magnate, Gary (Mark Blum). To spice up her bland life, Roberta takes to reading the personal ads and becomes intrigued by a periodically recurring notice headlined "Desperately Seeking Susan." On a whim, she goes off to New York City and eventually finds the mysterious Susan (Madonna).
