An escaped convict (Ray) wants a new trial since, notwithstanding his past criminal activities, he was sent to prison on false charges. He holes up with his younger brother (McCallum) and two pals (Maddern and Justini) on a fortress island off Sydney harbor, then threatens to blow up the city unless he's given a retrial.
