An accurately recounted horror film inspired by the life of crazed Wisconsin farmer Ed Gein, who actually murdered, skinned and preserved body parts of dozens of women in the late 1950s. PSYCHO (1960) and THE TEXAS CHAIN-SAW MASSACRE (1974) were also inspired by Gein. Blossom is perfect as
the middle-aged psychotic farmer whose domineering mother has warped his personality, turning him into a sick, dangerous killer. He studies the occult and, when Mom dies, preserves her body. As his madness progresses, he seeks out younger and more innocent victims to kill and stuff like trophies.
A sick little film but told with a disturbing sense of humor. Writer and codirector ...
